I shoot a variety of subject matter, but it's not usually the subject matter that drives me to press the shutter. It's the compositional possibilities that the subject matter offers. Naturally, the subject matter that offers the most compositional possibilities, namely nature, is what I shoot the most.
Born and raised in Indonesia, Firda Beka didn't take up photography until she moved to Canada in 2004. Photography has always been in her life as her father was a photography enthusiast. Unfortunately, he never encouraged her to use his camera. It was her husband who saw her potential and has been supporting her photography endeavours ever since they got together.
Firda admires and is influenced by the nature photography of Freeman Patterson and the landscape photography of Sherman Hines, both of whom are prominent Canadian photographers. She is based in Waterloo, Ontario. Her work can also be found on Flickr.
A few of my work are available for purchase as prints at Imagekind. If you'd like to purchase any of my work that are not available at Imagekind, please don't hesitate to contact me.
The site design is based on the Horizon template by Scott Craig that comes with Pixelpost v1.7.0 RC1, which is the photoblogging system that powers this site, and tweaked here and there by me. The background pattern is courtesy Squidfingers.com.
