Your Song

A Journal entry published on April 6, 2005

If I were a singer/songwriter, I would write a song called “I Believe (There is a Super Patient Man for Every Difficult Woman in the World)”, and I would dedicate it to Troy. It sounds like a fantastic title for a song to me. It would be a folk song, of course, because I like folk music. It would make you think “What the hell is this song all about?” because it would really be that confusing. One of the lines would go something like this: “If I asked you what one plus one is, you’d say four. If I asked you what your name is, you’d say five.” Yes, it would be one of those crazy stupid songs that only the writer knows the meaning of.

If I were a singer/songwriter, I would never ever get a record deal, though it would be due to my hearing-impairing voice more than anything else.
