Weblog Wannabe

Troy came back from his guys only weekend yesterday and made everything right. He had a talk with the morons downstairs and brought the cable TV back on (stupid Rogers Cable). And then he said the words I’d been wanting to hear: “We should move.” Yes! I would love to move to Stratford (just because there’s a lot of pretty things to photograph there, really) but I don’t think Troy likes the idea. Plus, we don’t really have the money to move in the near future.

Speaking of Stratford, I kind of want to see Much Ado About Nothing. Shakespeare wrote some good comedies. The one we saw two years ago, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, was excellent and hilarious. We saw another Shakespeare’s play at the University of Waterloo and another one when we were in Halifax, Nova Scotia last year. Can’t remember the titles, though. The one in Halifax was performed by Shakespeare By The Sea in Point Pleasant Park, which was awesome. The show was performed outdoor and there were some mosquitoes around but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

Anyway, while Troy was away this weekend, I managed to finish reading a book. That’s always an accomplishment since I have a very short attention span and am only able to finish reading 2-3 books a year (while Troy could finish twice that in a month). The book was Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom which I started reading, oh, only about 6 months ago. It was a good book, but not as good as Albom’s most recent work, The Five People You Meet In Heaven, which is my all-time favourite book. If you click the last link, you’ll see that Albom will have a new book coming out in late September. Can’t wait!

Before I started reading Tuesdays With Morrie, I’d already started reading The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. But I think I’ve given up on that book. I know a lot of people like it, but the story is just dragging too much for my liking. I think I’ll just see the movie when it comes out next year. Right now I’m reading Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. It’s a young adult book, which usually means an easy read. I’m enjoying it so far.
