Henri Cartier-Bresson, Deleted

Reading Great Photographers on the Internet (a satire) at The Online Photographer led me to this Flickr post where a photograph by Henri Cartier-Bresson (one of the masters of photography) was submitted to a Flickr photo critique group, the notorious DeleteMe and was voted for deletion from the pool. I assume the poster didn't put up the photo credit until after the final verdict.

It makes me wonder if it would still be voted for deletion had they known who the real photographer was. It also makes me wonder what would happen if, say, a popular Flickr member who always gets tonnes of comments full of praises with every post posted a humble photograph that I took and passing it as theirs. Would it still be getting tonnes of comments full of praises just because people thought it was by a photographer that they regarded highly? I guess I'll never know.
