Harry Potter the Third
So Troy and I went to see that Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban movie this evening and I noticed another, um, fascinating (?) thing about Canada. The line for popcorn is actually much longer than the line for movie tickets! In fact, there’s no line at all for movie tickets. It’s always the other way around in Indonesia.
Anyway, I bet you thought I was going to give you a review of the movie. Well, sorry to disappoint you. I’m no good at reviewing movies. All I can say is I really enjoyed it because the scenes were great, the musical score was done by one of my favourite modern composers of all time, the kids were, well, a little different than before (still the same kids but — I don’t know — they just seem different) but still fun to watch, and the popcorn was plentiful. Good stuff. We actually stayed until the end of the end credits.
If you have no time to see the movie, you can always read Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in Fifteen Minutes and you’ll feel like you’ve seen it already. Well, sort of.
By the way, after the previous post, I guess you all know now that I’m just a human simulation machine instead of a real human. Don’t bother looking forward to the next release of Firda™ because their team of engineers is actually too busy working on other projects that aren’t as hopeless as the project that is yours truly. *sniff* So sad.
Quacks on Harry Potter the Third
I love John Williams - he rocks. I definitely think that this is his best score for the HP movies so far!
Wonder when the movie play in Indonesia…
You know what, popcorn is more expensive than the movie ticket here ;)
Really? I didn’t know that. No wonder the line for movie tickets was always about a mile long while the line for popcorn was, like, none. :) But then again, back in Indonesia, I rarely saw movies in theatres and even more rarely bought popcorn to eat during the movie.
Nicole: I didn’t know that John Williams also did the score for the first two HP movies. I only noticed it in the third, but yeah, it’s got to be his best score for HP movies ever considering I didn’t notice that it was his work in the previous two, which might mean that the scores were just mediocre. :) I still have that “Something Wicked This Way Comes” song stuck in my head. It’s evil, I tell you!
Just as a bit of trivia for y’all, the movie was classified as M15+ over in Australia - the harshest rating anywhere in the world ! It was eventually reclassified after intense lobbying by the distributors to PG. Just proves money talks.
It’s an excellent movie but the stars are growing up. Wonder if they will be invited to do the next movie.
When I watched the movie a few days ago, the queue for tickets was about 300 long whereas the pop corn queue was about 30. This was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
